The first time I picked up a camera was not a momentous occasion for me as it is for many photographers. After snapping a few blurred and uninspiring shots I put the camera back in my dad's backpack and forgot all about it. It was only when I started to venture off on independent forays into the African wilderness that a camera found its way back to my side. I was frustrated by the ineptitude of words at describing my adventures and found that photographs could do the job far better. And so my interest in photography was born.

I now had an objective, to share my experiences in the wild with those who weren't fortunate enough to experience it for themselves. Over the years this objective has evolved to a point where I am to express the emotions that go along with these experiences in a unique and artistic way.

Currently I live with my wife Ali (and our dog)  in Cape Town, South Africa. I specialise in fine art photography, photographic safari guiding, travel journalism and hotel and lodge photography.
