A frenetic flock of red-billed queleas, hundreds of thousands of them, descends on a waterhole just before sundown at Mashatu Game Reserve, Botswana. In some parts of Africa quelea flocks can be over 1 million strong and can decimate entire crop fields, making them a serious threat to subsistence farmers.
