Jaguars of the Pantanal
The Pantanal is a vast untamed wetland in Brazil where wildlife thrives and every moment is a new opportunity for discovery. Rivers meander through grasslands and forests and the density and diversity of endemic wildlife is staggering. For wildlife photographers it's nothing short of a dream.
But what truly sets this Pantanal photo tour apart is the jaguar. With the highest concentration of these elusive big cats in the word this is the ultimate destination to photograph them. Working with an experienced team we will search for jaguars slinking in the dense undergrowth, hunting in the rivers or lounging on the banks.
On this tour we will focus on exploring the river by boat, maximising our chances of photographing jaguars while also delving into the incredible ecosystem they inhabit. Along the way we may encounter other remarkable subjects like giant river otters in action, howler monkeys in the treetops, capybaras in their element and an extraordinary array of birdlife that brings colour and energy to every frame.
The Pantanal leaves a mark, not just on your portfolio, but on the way you see and capture the natural world.

Itinerary
Arrive at Cuiabá airport and transfer to Deville Hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart for Poconé City (100km). Once there, you'll enjoy a 145km drive along the scenic Transpantaneira Park Road, passing through forests and wetlands, stopping frequently to spot wildlife. This road is very scenic and charming with many classic wooden bridges. We will enjoy lunch along the way at a restaurant on the banks of the Pasaim River before continuing to Porto Jofre. Arriving in the later afternoon, around 4:00 pm, we will take a half hour boat ride and travel along the Cuiabá River to the Aguapé Hotel Boat, which is anchored on the Piquiri River.
Night Aguapé Hotel Boat
Each day begins early with a boat safari at sunrise, exploring the Econtro das Águas National Park, a hotspot for jaguar sightings. The Aguapé Hotel Boat is located just 5 minutes from the Park. Return around 11:00 am for lunch. We will head out for another boat safari in the afternoon, returning at sunset. Our local guide with lead us through the region's diverse habitate, ensuring optimal opportunities for jaguar viewing. Over these next 5 days, whilst we will mainly stay focused on spotting jaguars, we will also most likely see and photograph giant river otters, howler monkeys, brown capuchin monkeys, capybara and many many birds!
Nights Aguapé Hotel Boat
After an early breakfast we will check out of the Aguapé Houseboat and return to Cuiabá where this remarkable adventure sadly comes to an end.
