A flock of carmine bee eaters near their colony in the Zambezi region of northern Namibia. These beautiful birds nest in vertical river banks where they excavate tunnels that can be over 1 meter deep. This particular colony is an interesting case as the birds nest on flat ground after the river bank, which was their usual spot, was washed away in a flood.
The measurements given below are for the longest side of the print.
