An elephant family reflected in the calm surface of a small waterhole on Mashatu Game Reserve, Botswana. I had been silently waiting in the hide for over 2 hours before this small herd came into view in the south. The conditions were perfect but I knew that to get a good reflection I’d need to shoot before they started drinking, at the very moment that the trunk touches the water but before the ripples have started their journey.

The sizes given below are for the longest side of the print.
